Tech Babble S3 E33 : 02/21/2012 Ok old at this point because it took me solong to get it up, but did google really hack Apple Safari, MS tried to right the coat tells of this after the fact, but that was exactly what it was as Google had the opt out for IE, it was Safari's default settings that made it incompatible with the opt out . Regretably this is a case of tech ignorance run a muck, but it is also potentially a case of Google being evil, yet it is people from the Google team that pushed a patch to the Web Kit core to close this hole so you be the judge. And we go off on an HTML5 Vs Plugins tangent for a bit with Bit, and then go off on iAds... End of the Vid Bit starts to chenel a fan boy, it got bad and funny as heck watch in you will laugh

Safari Reader Safari Reader removes annoying ads and other visual distractions from online articles. So you get the whole story and nothing but the story. It works like this: As you browse the web, Safari detects if you're on a web page with an article. Click the Reader icon in the Smart Address Field, and the article appears instantly in one continuous, clutter-free view. You see every page of the article — whether two or twenty. Onscreen controls let you email, print, and zoom. Change the size of the text, and Safari remembers it the next time you view an article in Safari Reader. Even Greater HTML5 Support Web standards are the future of the Internet. The world's most innovative browser, Safari continues to lead the way in support for HTML5. Safari 5 supports over a dozen new HTML5 features that allow developers to create interactive content and media experiences that work right in the browser — without the need for third-party plug-ins. Full-screen view and closed captions for HTML5 video. In Safari 5, HTML5 video can deliver an even richer, more accessible experience. Watch video embedded with the HTML5 video tag in full screen. If the video includes closed captions, simply click the closed-captions button in the controls to display them. Location services. Find businesses near you and get directions even faster. With support for the HTML5 geolocation standard in Safari 5, you can choose to share your location with websites that use it to give you helpful location information — like showing you the nearest post office or ATM. Rest assured, you're always in control of how your information is shared. When you visit a geolocation-enabled website, Safari asks you before sharing your location. And you can turn off location services all together. Smarter Address Field Can't remember the exact address for that website you visited the other day? Safari can. In the Smart Address Field, just type what you do remember, and Safari matches the text against the titles of web pages in your history and bookmarks. Safari also offers suggestions when you type any part of the address. Tabs Setting Safari 5 helps you clean up your desktop. A simple setting lets you open new web pages in tabs — instead of separate windows. No more screen clutter, and no more clicking across multiple browser windows to find what you want. Hardware Acceleration for Windows Tap into the graphics processing power of your PC while browsing the web. Safari 5 adds hardware acceleration support for Windows, so rich media and interactive graphics execute smoothly and speedily in the browser. Improved Web Inspector The new Timeline pane in the Web Inspector lets you view how Safari interacts with your website. Loading, scripting, and rendering timelines show you how and when Safari parses HTML, executes JavaScript, and performs other operations with your web application. Additional improvements to the Web Inspector make it easy for you to pinpoint areas for optimization.

From my experience with macs and PC's as a graphic designer (end user, not too much of a tech geek) i noticed that ios manages to squeeze more out of their limited system, where windows is so bulky and unnecessary complicated, that despite the kickass superior? hardware it manages to lose to macs in the time needed to render images...
Both platforms have their pro's and con's, only mac lately is going downhill.
By that i mean the only thing that is getting improved on their products is the price.
And that largely is why I tend to be in the Linux camp. Actual improvement and innovation keep going on.? Now their is disagreement about what innovation is needed which is why their are forks, but I think that is a good thing. as they all get tried. An Linux can be just as customized to any system as OS X is the what Apple chose to use and customized OS X for.....
...In terms of optimized for hardware I would say an end user Linux distro is inbetween OS X and? windows almost OS X but as it is not 100% for that hardware there is still some bulk... But in terms of out of the box work flow all the little extras that you would have to add apps to OS X, are worth that little extra bulk to me. I have a "snap" like feature in KDE or grids in Compiz I don't need to go buy a $20-$50 app to add it to OS X, and all these little addons as up.
And remember WebKit is from Apple... Al through developed by? apple.. So why was their browser still virnable
then why is apple always yelling from the highest tower they are the most sercure platform?.. "Puts on? aluminum foil on his head"
Apple' security updates (r? lack there of) in Safari are a joke hence why I am glad I use Chrome but also Google's Don't be evil mantra is the same as their open mantra BS.
