When your sketchmarks start to take shapes of their own, gradually kick up your brush size to fill in lines that should be thicker to indicate a better sense of depth; a default dissolving PS brush is used to put slight underlying dabs of shadow and value * you can make selections of what you'd like to fill and then hit shift + F5 to quickly fill in your desired shape, but for training purposes I kept most hotkey actions out of this one. Apply simple shadow and some thin highlights once you have a fair amount of value built up. / / / / / / / / / 1 small hard-edged ball brush was used and 1 PS dissolving brush was used * mostly to fill in larger shapes of value to help blending.
