Make a spray paint text in Photoshop (Tutorial)

This tutorial will teach you how to make this paint style text effect which can be used as a great wallpaper. This is a beginner aimed tutorial, the techniques are pretty simple so give it a go. You will need: a) a few splatter photoshop brushes. You can download some for free here: b) an image of either a wall, concrete or rock. I am using a weathered concrete texture, than can be found here: / Ok, let's get started. [1] Create a new document with dimensions 900 x 600 pixels (or choose your own) and fill the background layer black. [2] Using some splatter brushes make a few splats in the middle like so. [3] Right click on the splatters layer, select blending options and add an outer glow using the settings shown in the video. Once this is done, right click on the layer and convert to smart object. [4] Copy & paste the concrete image you downloaded and make sure its in the layer above the splatters then add a clipping mask by holding Alt and clicking between the 2 layers. [5] Next add your text with large letters and mess around a little bit with the character spacing. [6] Duplicate this layer and then hide it. From here on you want to make sure you always have an untouched copy of this text layer available as we will be using it a few times, always have it hidden when youre not using it though, in fact you can just move the duplicated layer to the bottom of the layer stack then whenever I say to get the text layer you just duplicate it, move it to the top of the layer stack then unhide it. Now go into the blending options for the text layer and add a color overlay with the settings shown in the video. [7] Go Filter - Blur - Gaussian Blur and use value 13 pixels. Duplicate this layer. [8] Make a new layer, select a soft round brush of about 16 pixels and add some random black strokes like I do. Then repeat step [7] but do not duplicate the layer. [9] Now get a copy of the text layer I mentioned in step [6] and add a Gaussian blur of 5 pixels. [10] Again, get a copy of the text layer then right click and go into the blending options and add an outer glow, inner glow and color overlay using the setting I use in the video. [11] Duplicate the layer with the concrete texture and move it on the top of the layer stack, set the opacity to 30# and a blend mode of multiply. [12] Create a new layer and select the brush tool. Now grab a big soft brush and add some strokes in different bright colors until you have something similar to the video. [13] Add a Gaussian blur to this layer with a value of 50 pixels and then set the mode of this layer to Overlay. You are done!
