Could latches be compared to? condvars from c? I mean they seem really allike...
I actually did C++ for a lot longer than Java, but never did any multi-threading in it. Apart from SDL, which is highly simplified. I bet the? same concepts all exist in C++.
Dear John, I can also do the latch idea with a? simple Integer object that is MADE to be thread safe, by a synchronized decrement method on it and do the countdown right?
Whats the advantage here with the latch class?
There is also AtomicInteger, but the advantage of a Latch is that it has the await() method, which blocks? until it reaches zero.
